they had finally come to the end of it. You think we can work out a
happy ending here?
I think so, Adrianna said. She smiled and quickly kissed his
lips. Mitchell s hand closed tighter around her waist, and he suddenly
hoped that whatever the meeting was, it would be very, very brief. He
had other plans for his mate today.
Tobey cleared his throat, and Mitchell pulled away, his hands still
wandering over Adrianna s body. Well, I don t know about you
two, he said, but I wouldn t exactly call this an ending. Half the
plane is still torn up from the war, there s three species here, none of
which get along and a third of which still can t decide whether or not
they think the rest of us are friends or food. Also, some of us haven t
found our mates yet.
As far as I m concerned, Tobey continued, this is just the
beginning.
Mitchell smiled at Tobey, but he had a feeling his old friend was
referring to another story. As they turned back toward the setting sun
to find out what the next day would bring in Morgana, Mitchell
couldn t help but glance around at all that his family had already
found. He looked from Adrianna to his sons and their mates and felt
an enormous sense of peace wash over him that they d all finally
found their way home.
He took his mate by the hand, and together they led their family
off into the sunset.
